Train for Battle, Commit like a Mountain! Huafeng Shipbuilding Advances on Two Fronts During Work Safety Month
Release time:2026-06-12 Click:220This June marks the 25th national "Work Safety Month," with the theme "Everyone Talks About Safety, Everyone Knows Emergency Response — Investigate and Rectify Risks and Hidden Dangers." The shipbuilding and repair industry concentrates high-risk operations such as hot work, working at heights, confined space operations, and lifting operations. Currently, Zhoushan is experiencing the overlap of the plum rain season and high-temperature weather, with humid air and frequent rainfall, leading to a sharp rise in risks such as electrical equipment leakage, combustible gas accumulation, and personnel operation hazards. Coupled with heavy repair tasks for various vessel types in the factory area, the pressure on work safety management and control has increased dramatically.
Huafeng Shipbuilding closely follows the theme, with the Baiquan Base testing emergency response capabilities through practical drills and the Daishan Base consolidating company-wide responsibility through commitment signing. The two fronts work in tandem, fully kicking off the series of activities for Work Safety Month.
At 10:00 a.m. on June 5, the alarm sounded at Pier No. 1 of the Baiquan Base. A simulated electric welding operation in the forepeak tank of the M/V "Global Flying Fish" ignited surrounding mooring ropes, and the fire spread rapidly.
After discovering the danger, the operating personnel immediately reported the fire location and risk situation to the safety supervisor. The general management team quickly assembled on the forecastle deck, divided responsibilities for initial emergency deployment, and simultaneously organized the emergency evacuation of personnel in the affected area. The engineering supervisor counted the evacuated personnel one by one at the gangway entrance. After receiving the alarm, the on-site commander immediately activated a Level II emergency response, dispatching rescue and medical teams, security and evacuation teams, logistics support teams, and foam water tank fire trucks to the scene.
The lead rescuer of the rescue and medical team, wearing an air respirator and explosion-proof heat-insulating suit, boarded the vessel to investigate the fire, while the assistant rescuer laid fire hoses to the extinguishing point and simultaneously performed cooling and explosion-proof protection on the adjacent gas pipeline area. The security and evacuation team set up multi-layer explosion-proof warning lines at the pier approach bridge entrance and around the vessel. Each engineering supervisor guided the ship's crew and pier operators to evacuate in an orderly manner to the designated assembly point, counting personnel team by team to ensure no one was left behind. The logistics support team dispatched gantry cranes and emergency rescue cages to designated deck positions, prepared for casualty transfer, and promptly replenished explosion-proof fire equipment and foam agent.
After the fire was completely extinguished, the rescue and medical team conducted a comprehensive inspection of the affected area and the vessel's surroundings to eliminate hidden dangers of re-ignition and leakage. The entire drill closely followed the six major stages of alarm, initial response, professional rescue, evacuation and security, logistics support, and emergency recovery, with participating personnel closely coordinating under unified dispatch on VHF Channel 18.
After the drill, the general commander and on-site commander conducted a debriefing at the pier assembly point, pointing out that there is still room for improvement in areas such as the closeness of coordination with the ship's crew, the response rhythm of the factory's fire-fighting forces, and the handover of cage rescue operations. They required further refinement of the fire disposal process, strengthening of coordinated training with the ship's crew, optimization of the water supply process, and improvement of the coordinated combat capability of each team.

At 7:00 a.m. on June 9, all regular employees and construction team personnel at the Daishan Base gathered at the site to solemnly hold a safety commitment and signing activity.
Lian Di, electromechanical supervisor of the electromechanical work area, took the stage as a representative of regular employees to share. Drawing on years of frontline electromechanical management experience, he pointed out that safety work tolerates no trace of luck, and safety management must focus on details and implementation. He called on all employees to proactively participate in safety management, conduct mutual inspections and supervision, and jointly guard the safety red line. Shi Peng from the Guangzhou Steel Team, as a representative of frontline workers, reflected on past habitual violations based on his own work experience, discussed the ideological changes brought by safety learning and emergency drills, and solemnly stated that he would strictly abide by operating procedures, eliminate the mentality of taking chances, and achieve standardized operations, self-inspection of hidden dangers, and mutual supervision.
The company's Deputy General Manager Zhou delivered a concluding speech, conducting warning education combined with recent typical accident cases. From three aspects — "Who is safety for and how to do it," "Deepen understanding and conduct comprehensive investigation and rectification," and "Genuine training and drills to consolidate company-wide responsibility" — he warned all employees that safety concerns individuals, families, and enterprises, and no one should be complacent or slack. The speech clearly required all personnel to take cases as a warning, focus on key points such as oil and chemical tanker repair, hot work, confined spaces, electrical circuits, and special equipment, and conduct thorough self-inspection and rectification. In response to the humid characteristics of the plum rain season, it is necessary to focus on strengthening electrical safety and equipment moisture protection, and maintain zero tolerance for all types of "three violations" (illegal command, illegal operation, violation of labor discipline).
At the end of the activity, all personnel walked to the commitment display board one by one and solemnly signed their names. Every stroke carries responsibility, and every word and action demonstrates commitment.

Baiquan trains for battle, Daishan commits like a mountain. Taking Work Safety Month as an opportunity, Huafeng Shipbuilding deeply integrates the hard skills of practical drills with the soft power of company-wide commitment, continuously deepening hidden danger investigation and governance, safety education and training, and emergency practical drills. It transforms safety commitments into daily actions, with all employees working together and strictly guarding, fully escorting the stable operation of the company's work safety.
